Dry cleaners. Grocery shopping. Mall. Hardware store. Constantly frustrated by weekends spent running here, there and everywhere leaving no time for the fun stuff?
It’s time to start automating or partnering or delegating. No matter what you call it, let someone or something else do your dirty work.
- Order paper products and dry goods online and have a big box retailer ship directly to you. Yes, there’s a shipping fee but it’s nominal compared to the stress and hassle of parking on a Saturday morning. Let’s also remember the $$ you save without impulse purchases that miraculously *land* in your shopping cart.
- Extend the length of time between visits to the dry cleaners. I’m fairly certain your closet has many hidden gems, if you’d just bother to look (speaking from experience).
- Squeeze 1-2 errands in on your lunch hour or at the end of your work day. BONUS points if you can leave work 30 minutes earlier to do so. You’ll miss the traffic and lighten your load on the weekend.
If you simply MUST do errands on the weekend, get up and out early to beat the crowds and vow to be home by before noon – plenty of time to savor the day.

My mother died when I was 19. Obviously, those first few years were fairly tumultuous (to say the least) however instead of wallowing, I had the sense to do something about it. Little did I know that work with a counselor would begin a process that culminates here.
Jayne here, and let’s keep this brief because we’ve all got places to go and things to do.
